How to Choose the Right Mascara for Your Lashes?

How to Choose the Right Mascara for Your Lashes?

It is no secret that mascara can significantly enhance the beauty of the eyes. But you can only achieve that with the right one.  Generally, not all lashes are made the same, and neither is mascara. With so many different brands of mascaras such as 28 day mascara in the market today, it can be pretty challenging to choose the right one for you.

Before you go ahead and buy mascara, here are essential things you need to pay attention to.

  • Know the type of mascara you want

There are plenty of types of mascara in the market. So it is important to know the type you want beforehand. The most common types of mascara include volumizing, waterproof, curve, and lengthening mascara.

Generally, if you have thin, sparse lashes, the best mascara for you is the volumizing mascara. That’s because the applicator wands are wide and thick, giving the impression of thick, full lashes. On the other hand, if you have very short lashes, the lengthening mascara is perfect for you since it can help give your lashes some length.

For waterproof mascara, you only use them when needed. Waterproof mascara generally dries quickly, and since it is so difficult to wash off, you will need a makeup remover that is oil-based. This type of mascara is ideal for people with eyes that tend to water a lot.

  • Know the right color that you need

Your eye color and skin tone generally determine the color of mascara that is best for you. Your eyebrow color also plays a crucial role. Mascara generally comes in different colors, such as blackened amethyst, navy, burgundy, deep emerald green, etc. If you want to bring out your eyes, the black mascara is ideal as it can add glam to your eye make-up. The navy blue mascara is perfect for blue eyes. Burgundy mascara, on the other hand, is ideal for green and blue eyes.

  • Choose the right wand

One of the questions you should ask yourself when it comes to mascara is how you want your eyelashes to look after you have applied mascara. The mascara brush is generally the major tool that determines how your eyelashes will look after applying mascara. A straight, plastic bristle brush gives you full mascara coverage. That’s because it reaches baby lashes and makes them look sleek and separated. Curved fluffy and classic mascara, on the other hand, will leave your eyelashes thicker and curled.

If you have thin eyelashes, it is advisable to go for a big mascara wand. And if you have short eyelashes, you should go for mascara with a long and thin brush.

  • Pay attention to the smell and the texture of the mascara

It is advisable to smell your mascara before buying it. If you notice that the mascara has a strange or strong scent, avoid it. If the mascara has a too clumpy texture, avoid it too. It may be an indication that the mascara is expired or of low quality. The rule of the thumb is to always buy your 28 day mascara from a well-known, trusted brand.
